Jasper sharpening stones are extremely hard, super dense and cannot be gouged into when sharpening. As a base stone for razor honing, the stone can handle any other softer Nagara stone for making slurry or if you want to use Jasper‘s own slurry which is extremely fine and fast cutting then hit it with a worn out diamond plate. For knife or razor sharpening this is an exceptional stone. It can also handle woodworking and other tasks that require ultra fine and hard finishing.

You can also use Jasper as a dual grit wet stone if one surface is scratched up with a fresh newer 120 grit diamond plate it will act more like a course or medium level Whetstone this lets you create multiple effects from one stone
